lol, nice one, i wouldn't mind having the armors drop runes with the correct class on them, but that would probably be abused

The thing with other mobs having picked up loot is a smart answer to this, but be serious for a moment, and youll see i have a point...

Same Reason Dragons Horde gold.....
If you organize the drops based on what the creature is, players who normally have a chance of getting what they need will have to go to specific enemies instead of simply fighting hard enemies to get what they want. And players will go around trying to kill specific enemies in order to get what the want instead of "any" hard monster.
Could you imagine if the only drops you got from the minotaurs in underworld were Minotaur hides and warrior runes?

Well not really. In every rpg drops are ridiculously illogical. I mean Rats having gold and/or weapons?

eh...i can deal with what you consider 'illogical' drops...however, i can't deal with what i consider 'illogical' drops...
after farming in various areas for quite some time you get some odd golds....such as my max stone summit shield req 8, +1 water magic (20%)...sure....it would be worth a decent amount if i found someone who needed it....but i dont see many warrior/ele's looking for a water magic shield...
then my all time favorite. gold drop from chest in ring of fire. Insightful Fire Staff of Fortitude...forget the mod stats except....max damge req 11 (fire magic) then a completely random Halves cooldown time 10% (req 10 Air Magic (WTF?!))
to me, THATS illogical...lets put air req on a fire staff! gg!

The gold must have been carried by the last adventurer that was eaten whole.

That would make monk bosses even more fun for mesmers to kill and warrior's the most annoying thing to get drops for. Lol
I think it is okay, but you can only make it logical to an extent.

OK, I agree that the creature drops should be logical.
But when I was in the Crystal Desert in the Prophet's Path going from Amnoon Oasis to Augury Rock with second Character, I came across the usual Jade Scarabs that popped up from the ground. While I was fighting them I noticed one of the scarabs had something on it's front left leg. Looked like a boot at first. I was thinking, "What the h*** is that on that scarab?" When it died it dropped a Grim Cesta - the one that looks like a glove. (Wish I took a screenshot of it!)
So, don't be surprised if the drops are logical to the powers that be!

I don't know, runes would drop precipitously in price if only class-specific runes dropped. It would be awesome for Monks and Wars, and Necros aswell. No more complaining about high rune prices anymore!

It should be made logical to an extent.
I like the randomness of the drops, it keeps things exciting. If I knew what was going to be dropped before I even killed something, it would start to get boring.
I do agree with what Nivryx is saying, those kind of off the wall upgrade combinations can get ridiculous.

I understand what the OP is getting at, but if I farm Mountain Trolls with my Mesmer, I don't want only Mesmer items dropping (Warrior and Ranger items tend to sell for more). There is nothing wrong with the way it is now.
